Frequently Asked Questions
Is my image uploaded to your server?▼
No — all processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device. This makes it faster, more private, and works completely offline after the page loads.
What is the best format for web images?▼
WebP is recommended for web: it's 25–35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent quality and supports transparency like PNG. Browser support is 97%+. Use JPEG for photographs where transparency isn't needed. Use PNG for screenshots, logos, or images needing sharp edges. Avoid GIF for new work — use WebP or CSS animations instead.
What quality setting should I use?▼
For JPEG/WebP: 80–90% is a good balance between quality and file size. Below 60% introduces visible compression artifacts. 100% is rarely needed and produces large files. For background images where slight degradation is invisible: 70–75% works well. For hero images and product photos: 85–90%.
How do I resize images for social media?▼
Facebook/LinkedIn link: 1200×630px. Twitter/X large card: 1200×628px. Instagram feed: 1080×1080 (square) or 1080×1350 (portrait). Instagram Stories/Reels: 1080×1920. YouTube thumbnail: 1280×720. LinkedIn post: 1200×627. Always save at 2× resolution if displaying on Retina/HiDPI screens.
