What is a T+2 settlement date?▼
T+2 means 'trade date plus 2 business days.' If you buy a stock on Monday, it settles Wednesday. If you buy on Thursday, it settles Monday (skipping weekend). T+2 is the standard settlement period for US and most international stock markets.
Why do contracts use business days instead of calendar days?▼
